NHS Hormone Replacement Therapy Prescription Prepayment Certificate (HRT PPC) The new HRT PPC is now available to women who pay for HRT in England. This became available on the 1st April. Each prescription item normally costs £9.65 , but for a one off payment of £19.30, this will cover unlimited prescriptions for a 12 month period.
Potential Benefit of HRT on Alzheimer’s
It seems that there is still much debate about whether HRT can be a benefit in prevention of Alzheimer's disease. A press release from Hanna Geissler The Daily Express Health Editor 3rd April is that ‘Early HRT treatment may ease the chances of getting Alzheimer’s disease’ and that women should take HRT early to prevent Alzheimer’s disease.
