HRT after myocardial infarction (heart attack)

The British Menopause Society have released new guidance regarding  HRT for those patients who have cardiovascular disease. The advice is that:-Women taking HRT who sustain a myocardial infarction do not necessarily have to discontinue it, and women who have sustained a myocardial infarction and who then require HRT can be given it.  The type of HRT and the dose is very important however, but this is reassuring advice regarding the safety of HRT in cardiovascular disease.
