Yes I am. I qualified as a registered Nurse in 1989 and have worked in the NHS since this time. In 2003 I qualified as a Nurse Practitioner in Primary Care and in 2004 moved to work in General Practice in a GP surgery. In 2004 I also qualified as a nurse Independent Prescriber. I qualified with a women’s health Diploma in 2007. I trained to fit coils and implants for contraception and do this in my NHS job. In 2019 I was awarded the Royal College of Nursing Advanced Level Nursing Practice Credential. I am passionate about care of women in the menopause and perimenopause and so trained with the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health, qualifying in May 2022 with the Advanced Certificate in Menopause Care which is recognised by the British Menopause Society. I have also certified training in using cognitive behavioural therapy for managing hot flushes and night sweats (British Menopause Society) using group sessions.
